This is a movie of a small time local baseball player from Dominican Republic, looking for an opportunity to play in the major league in the states. Our main character, Santos, is an average pitcher. He is hardworking, dedicated and passionate about baseball. This movie is very similar to Rocky, a young athlete looking for fame and rediscover himself in the process.

Soon after, Sugar and his friends get recruited by Kansas City Knights and they go to the states to play big time. This was Sugar's dream and goal. However, he realizes that it is a tough journey and not everything will be all sunshine. For example, not long after they were in the states, one of his friends was sent back to DR. That made Santos realized that  MLB is a tough sport and they can be dropped at any moment of mistake. Even so, Santos works even harder and strive to play better. Therefore, Santos wants to show his abilities and he does but the coach was not satisfied and he was sent to bench very often. As a result, Santos gets mad and loses control, and even further injuring himself later on. Slowly, his dreams fell apart and he was depressed. Sugar decides to leave baseball and go seek another dream. That path led him to New York and he found himself in another community. In the end, Santos ends up playing baseball with rejected players who didn't make it into the major league. Overall, the theme of the story is to continue seeking your passion and dreams but do not let them affect you mentally, or physically because happiness is worth more than fame.
