Fruitvale Station #Damian Henderson

Damian Henderson Jr
A3

Fruitvale Station was a movie that brought attention to a very important issue in this world. Cops are going around killings people. Mainly African American men. The real life incident from this movie happened in 2009. But police has not stopped the killing since then. Oscar was a father and boyfriend who had his life tragically taken from him by the police. And the sad part about it all is that he was not doing anything wrong to the point he had to get shot. I understand that he got into a fight and should have been pulled to the side by the police and at least be questioned. But there is no reason why him and his friends should have been man handled by the police the way they did. They were throwing them to the ground, punching them, and yelling inappropriate and racist names.

The situation could have been handled a much easier way. But cops have been taking these incidents to the extreme. This has been a problem in society for the last few years and I am glad that they tried to bring attention to these problems.

People don't realize that when you take someone's life, you are not just hurting them. You are taking away someone's father, brother, son, mother, daughter, etc. You can affect multiple people's lives just by taking one. Imagine if your father was killed while you were at a young age. How would that have an impact on your life and how you turn out? Growing up without a father can be hard. So why would you bring that feeling on someone else?
