What I had found interesting about Sugar is that it displays a great athlete reaching his downfall during his prime. It shows how Sugar's real life situations had an effect on the expectations that were set for him. Sugar came from the Dominican Republic as a good baseball player attempting to pursue the American dream and make a better life for his family. During the film Sugar had a great opportunity to follow his baseball fantasy and become successful and bring his family to America, but he had realized that maybe that wasn't the lifestyle that he had preferred. The end of the movie resulted in Sugar moving to New York and becoming a dishwasher at a local diner while also building a table at a local carpentry to send home to his mother.
