Winter's Bone

Winter's bone is a movie that was made in 2010. It's basically about a teenage girl Ree (Jennifer Lawrence) handling her siblings, home, school and trying to locate her father who went missing. She had to learn at a young age how to juggle a house without the support of parents who were able to provide. She has three younger siblings, one who has a mental illness. She tries to teach them the things they need to survive. But that's kind of hard when you weren't taught much yourself. She teaches them basic survival skills so they're able to eat. She was basically raised by taking care of people younger than her. Forced into something like motherhood earlier then she expected. But she does it, she makes sure her family is straight.

Ree's father goes missing and she has to go on sort of an hunt to find him you know follow in his footsteps. Nobody would help her because their loyalty doesn't have to stay true to her, it's to her father. He's out on bail for some crime he probably did commit and Ree wants to find him. Imagine being alone in the woods with three little kids asking what's going on and where's their father. He might've not done everything he was supposed to but that's all they know. But when he doesn't show up to pay that bondsman he made it where more than one person is looking for him and not looking for him for something positive. The first person that Ree tries to reach out to is her uncle, Teardrop (John Hawkes) he doesn't help her. She goes to a local crime person and the women of his home beats Ree up and then offers her, her father's bones. How would you react to someone saying that to you? Finally she finds out that her father died. So her search can finally end. Now she has to face the fact that there is no money coming into the home. Facing your father's cut up body parts is an experience I'd never want to experience. The bondsman gives her the money part of the bond now she has to prepare for the life ahead that she wants to make for her and her siblings.

I would've rated the movie 3 stars only because I don't think there was really any suspense of this movie, it's predictable.
