Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) grew up without a father getting in trouble always fighting getting sent to group homes. Until one day a lady came in saying she wanted to adopt him then told Adonis that he had a father, and his name was Apollo Creed. Adonis wasn't a professional boxer like how his father was  -  he was fighting in Mexico and was working a job too. But he wanted to be like his father and go up to his legacy so he quit his job. He told his mom, and she was scared because Apollo got killed in the ring. She thought that will be the same for Adonis.

He went up to Philly to be trained by Apollo's good friend and rival Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone). He found him in a restaurant and told him that he was Creed's son  -  Rocky ain't believe it at first so Adonis went to do his own training at a local gym in Philly, Mighty Mick's [later Rocky AKA "Unc" moves their training to Front Street Gym in north Philly]. When he was working out he had seen Rocky so Rocky had decided to train him after all.

Adonis first was against the gym son's owner [syntax is awkward; gym owner's son is more precise] where he was recently training at, Leo ''the Lion'' Sporino (Gabriel Rosado). The reason why this happened was that the father seen [saw and had for sometime been attempting to get Rocky on board with training Leo] how good Rocky was training Adonis and wanted him to loose 10 [write out numbers through ten] more pounds because that was in his son weight class, but Adonis had tko TKO'd or simply KO'd him in the second round. The rumors had came out that he was Creed's son and the person who didn't like the fact he was Creed son just cause he has one win under his belt ''Pretty'' Ricky Conlan (Tony Bellew). His manger had set up the fight and gave him a fake boxing record so he could face the champ. During Adonis training he found out that Rocky had got cancer Rocky didn't want to go through training [treatment/chemo?], but Adonis had made him go through it. So Ricky and Adonis had went through all the rounds but hit was a good but Ricky had won it.
