Chicago by Dara PumPum
Chicago was my first experience with the genre of musical, not including the High School Musical series, and it was a good experience. I'm not a big fan of musicals because I think it is silly and unrealistic to sing in the middle of a movie; however, the music and songs were really catchy and well directed.
In addition, the characters were not likable ??? [in need of transition]. The main girl, Roxie, was very annoying, and she was a straight up criminal; therefore, it was hard to be on her side throughout the movie.
Honestly, the music and songs were enjoyable; however, it got a little repetitive. One scene that I enjoyed was the one where she was talking to the press, and it showed that she became a puppet to her attorney. The song was well directed and the puppets singing was fun. Aside from the musical aspect of the movie, the plot was decent, but like I said before, I just hate Roxie as soon as she killed the guy. In conclusion, the musical did its part as a musical. It provided amazing dancing and entertaining songs.
