Bonnie and Clyde/ Badlands

Bonnie & Clyde
Dir. Arthur Penn
Feat. Warren Beatty (Clyde Barrow), Faye Dunaway (Bonnie Parker), Gene Hackman (Buck Barrow), Estelle Parsons (Blanche Barrow), Michael Pollard (CW Moss)
Warner Bros, 1967.

Badlands
Dir. Terrence Mallick.
Feat. Sissy Spacek (Holly), Martin Sheen (Kit), Warren Oates (Father).
Warner Brothers, 1973.

These two movies were very interesting and had some similarities. Escaping with someone you have deep regards for and committing a bunch of crimes seems crazy, but the fact that these were based on true stories makes it seem even more unreal. A difference I noticed was Bonnie was more willing to live that type of lifestyle and Holly just seemed forced, plus Holly seemed to be very young. In Bonnie and Clyde the always announced themselves after stealing or killing someone, which completely threw me off because I know if I were them I would never give my real name or any name at that. However, in Badlands Holly and Kit were more secretive and tried to keep a low profile.
Overall I enjoyed both movies, but it just felt like I was re-watching Bonnie and Clyde since they were similar. I'd recommend this movie to people who enjoy old films that involve action and romance.
