Rocky

In their Academy Award-winning Rocky feature, director John G. Avildsen and screen/actor Sylvester Stallone explored the state of the American dream in 1976. This movie explored the American Dream by giving a small-time up and coming fighter going by the name of “Italian Stallion” the chance of fighting on the biggest stage  -  a prime time bout at Philadelphia's Spectrum Collesium for the title of Heavy-weight  Champion of the World.

Throughout the movie Rocky was an underdog , because people didn't think he had a chance of winning in the fight against the champion  Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). There were some iconic moments such as the steps that Rocky ran up at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  This was the first time a Steadicam was used to film a major motion picture.

Also, the movie featured at least two montages  -  a sequence of quick clips/edits that compresses the passage of time, often accompanied by non-diegetic sound  - the training montage and another in the middle of the fight between Rocky and Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). The movie only showed three full rounds then played a montage to the final round.

The movie Rocky explored many different genres in one movie. The movie has romance, action, and drama. This movie includes action, by having the fight between Rocky and Apollo Creed. The romance was between Rocky and Adrian.

Love it or hate it the movie Rocky had many iconic moments that are still living today. For example, one thing that the viewers or lovers of the movie would probably never forget is the theme song. “Gonna Fly Now” by Bill Conti people will never forget, because the song is very catchy and easy to remember. I know that for myself I enjoyed the movie and for me the most iconic moment is the training montage when the played the theme song.
