Prior Film Experience
I, just like most contemporary teenager have a decent amount of film experience. I go to the movies with friends to stay up to date on recent movies. But in my opinion I have a little more experience in films than other students may. Growing up my dad introduced me to movies that he grew up with and movies he had an interest in as a kid. For instance, I have a strong love for the movies Stand by Me and Weird Science. I believe that films from that time, even the simplest, have the most capability to relate to meanings. For instance, "Stand by me" shows views about friendship and the fact that your friend might not always be with you but they will always have your side/a place in your heart. Also, it taught the struggles of not being accepted each of the boys had a problem with being excepted into certain life aspects; family, school, etc.
On top of my dad showing me earlier films, I love documentaries. I spend any free time that I have watching documentaries on stuff that interests me. Due to my love for the genre, I am writing my own about pit bulls, the negative stigma verses how people truly see the breed. Movies have been a part of my life from a young age to now. When I grow up, I hope to create a career in making movie and editing.
