When We Were Kings was a documentary about the match between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman. The match gain a lot of media as it was taking place in Zaire. The documentary followed both of the fighters as well as other sources that were tied to the fight. This film portrayed Muhammad Ali as the underdog as he was near retirement, George Foreman was currently the heavyweight champion, this made people believe George Foreman was going to win. However Muhammad Ali was very confident and many of the people in Africa believed in him and favored him over George Foreman. The felt closer to him and related to him in a way that they couldn't feel towards George Foreman. In the end of the movie Muhammad Ali ended up winning the fight. He won the fight by repeatedly hitting him with his right arm. This is a move that is not used often in these fights because it leaves them open for an attack. So using this move was like an insult to George Foreman. George Foreman ended up exerting all his energy and ended up losing the fight. I like this movie well enough. it kept my attention, but I will not lie and say that there weren't parts that made me want to lay my head down and fall asleep.
