Malcolm X

This film was a documentary on a man named Malcolm Little. Malcolm was born on May 19, 1925.
At this time racism was a big problem, blacks were being mistreated and were not given the same rights as a white man. Malcolm was a young black male growing up in the streets of Brooklyn New York. He took after what he saw growing up as a kid like doing drugs, becoming a member of a gang, and many more illegal things. His father, Earl Little, was an outspoken Baptist minister and avid supporter of Black Nationalist leader Marcus Garvey. Earl’s civil rights activism prompted death threats from the white supremacist organization Black Legion, forcing the family to relocate twice before Malcolm’s fourth birthday. After Malcolm finished dealing with the streets he had new intentions to fight against racism. He began to gain too much power for the white men to control. He started to attract too much attention and started to receive threats from all over. This made Malcolm carry body guards everywhere he went. Even though he might have protection everywhere for himself it still was not enough to keep him from being killed.   One week later, however, Malcolm’s enemies were successful in their ruthless attempt. At a speaking engagement in the Manhattan’s Audubon Ballroom on February 21, 1965, three gunmen rushed Malcolm onstage. They shot him 15 times at close range. The 39-year-old was pronounced dead on arrival at New York’s Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.

Rebel Without a Cause

This film is important in the shift of movies centered around adults to movies about teenagers. Rebel Without a Cause stars James Dean who plays Jim Stark, an angst filled teenager who moves to a new town for a fresh start. Trouble maker Jim Stark is disliked by most of the local teens. Although he makes friends with an outsider, Plato, and falls for a girl named Judy.  The kids all have nothing better to do than get into knife fights and drag races, and this reckless behavior results in a death. Rebel Without a Cause started the now popular trend of films outlining the problems teenagers face and how they come up with resolutions in a creative way separate from adults. Without Rebel Without a Cause, High School Musical wouldn't even exist now.

Two courageous black men stood up to bring justice for the black community. Two influential men changed the lives of not just black Americans, but for all Americans. Both men made a change and created a movement. These men were very similar in these aspects. Many would say that the difference between the two is peace versus violence.

In the film Malcom X was portrayed as a man who could lead an army of men and women with the movement of a finger. He saw black Americans as needing to gain their freedom and they would do what ever they could do achieve that; whether it was through violence or not. He felt that before integration could start where white Americans helped black Americans that people of his same color should be working with each other. They should be hand in hand since they know the same struggles and problems.

Martin Luther King Jr lead the people through peace. His speeches were powerful and persuasive. Even if at a protest he and fellow blacks were being beaten he felt that peace was the way to go to get the point across. He didn't fight back with violence but with words. He saw that people of all kinds should be working together to have equal rights and freedom.

Both men wanted the same thing and both changed how the world saw rights for colored people in the United States. These two men defied officers and laws to make their point and change lives.

Bowfinger is a 1999 American comedy film directed by Frank Oz. This movie is about a low rent movie producer (Bowfinger) who makes a film with a top Hollywood action star (Kit Ramsey) who does not know hes in the film Bobby Bowfinger saved up for this movie his entire life he has $2,184 to pay for production cost. He has a script ( "Chubby Rain') by an accountant, a camera operator and Dave with access to studio - owned equipment . The funniest part in the Movie is when Kit Ramsey was going crazy thinking he was seeing Aliens and random people , I also feel like that Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy did a great job in this movie and will recommend people to watch.

Rebel Without a Cause  Kevin dean

This movie was a little confusing to me actually. But surprisingly it caught my attention. The beginning when he was in the mental hom was weird I didn't understand it or why he was even in there
Then he went to the new school and tried to act different and all big and bad. First he tried to steal one of the popular kids girl and before school even started they didn't like him. Then when the knife fight happened I thought he was gonna end up stabbing him and then he was gonna kill him straight up they were going to jump him. But he ended setting himself up for another chance to get hurt by doing the car battleand he ended up killing the other guy The other guy was dumb enough to do that, but I think that's where he showed he was running the show he knew what he was doing he was just doing it to be a show off. Even though at first he was doing it for no reason. Then the girl he was trying to get with that was her boyfriend and she ended up falling in love with the guy. Then the little kid that had like anger issues was like friends with them and he killed somebody and was running away from the cops. He ended up sneaking into a museum and hiding and the cops ended up coming and tracking him becasue somebody snitched. Then he was the one that ended up regretting doing what he did becasue they shot him and killed him

When We Were Kings

When We Were Kings was a documentary about the match between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman. The match gain a lot of media as it was taking place in Zaire. The documentary followed both of the fighters as well as other sources that were tied to the fight. This film portrayed Muhammad Ali as the underdog as he was near retirement, George Foreman was currently the heavyweight champion, this made people believe George Foreman was going to win. However Muhammad Ali was very confident and many of the people in Africa believed in him and favored him over George Foreman. The felt closer to him and related to him in a way that they couldn't feel towards George Foreman. In the end of the movie Muhammad Ali ended up winning the fight. He won the fight by repeatedly hitting him with his right arm. This is a move that is not used often in these fights because it leaves them open for an attack. So using this move was like an insult to George Foreman. George Foreman ended up exerting all his energy and ended up losing the fight. I like this movie well enough. it kept my attention, but I will not lie and say that there weren't parts that made me want to lay my head down and fall asleep.
