I never knew much about Steve Martin other than he's always been very funny to me. He was born in Texas on August 14, 1945, I didn't know he was that old but he's getting up there. I've seen a lot of his movies and a lot i have not seen. One movie I never saw that stuck out to me was The Jerk, which was his first full-length movie in 1979. I think that would be good to watch because it sprung his career or just was the start and I've never watched it, so I enjoy new movies. A movie I love to death and died laughing was both his Cheaper by the Dozen in 2003. It was about a man and a women who met and each had six children and they had to find a way to fit all six together. There was many obstacles they faced, with the kids fighting, wife away for a book tour, and handling dealing with twelve kids all in one house. Also, there were many amazing actors and actresses that played in this movie like Bonnie Hunt, Piper Perabo, Tom Welling, Hilary Duff, Kevin Schmidt, Alyson Stoner and many more. It was a funny family kind of movie, I like those the best. Steve Martin has lots of different voices, I would love to met him I don't think I would stop laughing. The odds of that are that it will never happen but it is a nice daydream. As I was doing some research on Steve Martin, he had a couple trade marks like that he usually plays a father in movies and wearing an arrow through his head. Even though he was a comedian, Steve fell into depression for a couple of months when his good friend John Candy died. Another thing I did not know about him is that he wrote several  books, a couple children's books, and others like Shopgirl and Pure Drivel. I will have to look into some of his books. Overall he seems like a great person with a big heart.

Bowfinger

Bowfinger is about a guy named, well Bowfinger, who wants to make a big time movie. At the begging [beginning] of this movie the only 2 [write out numbers less than two] associates he had to make this dream become a reality were giving up on him. After that he had found out that he had to take matters into his own hands and gather actors, producers, and a camera crew. The topic of the movie he was working on was an alien movie known as Chubby Rain.

During this movie Eddie Murphy or "Kit Ramsey" was a big time actor who was starring in this movie that he had no idea existed. He was asked to review the script at first but because of his attitude against producers it had caused him to shoot [literally with a gun] the script and throw it out of the window [he reacted this way once he discovered Bowfinger was trying to play him by claiming to be a member of MindHead (a satirical re-imagining of Scientology)]. So Bowfinger had just improvised and told his crew that Kit had not wanted to have any communication with anybody on the set because he is in full character at all times [method acting]. Kit had just assumed that all of the alien nonsense around him was real and that maybe he or the people in the city were starting to go crazy.

One thing I liked about this movie is how Eddie Murphy had a double role as Kit and the stunt double in the movie. That's one thing I've seen in a few Eddie Murphy movies and that has become one of his signature acting methods. Overall, this movie had contained a great percentage of suspense, comedy , and drama [would you say this film successfully crossed genres? Why or why not?]. 

Alyssa Beckam - Malcolm X

Malcolm X is a 1992 American biographical drama film about the Afro-American activist Malcolm X . This film was directed and co-written by Spike Lee who also a plays a supporting role as a fellow criminal and jazz saxophonist name ( Jarvis "shorty ") . The actor that plays Malcolm X is the famous Denzel Washington and Angela Bassett as (Dr.Betty Shabazz). This film is about key events in Malcolm X's life when War World ll era Boston was happening Malcolm was making his living as a hustler he was the son of a baptist preacher who was murdered by the Ku Klux Klan he was raised by foster parents after his mother deemed clinically insane , he turned into a life criminal which lead him to jail on burglary charges. Malcolm received epiphany in the form of an introduction of Islam he taken lessons of Elijah Mohammed. Adopting the name Malcolm X. When he left prison he began working as a spokesman for the national of Islam. He then married a Muslim nurse named Betty Shabazz and had six daughters , follows after which X attended a march on a Harlem hospital housing a Muslim recovering from police brutality that march helped elevate X to the position of Islam's national spokesperson. X is targeted for assassination by other nation leaders .Soon during a 1965 speech Malcolm X was shot and killed by a nation of Islam Members.

I enjoyed watching this movie and I would definitely watch this movie again.

Malcolm X was a great movie that contained lots of interesting facts about his actual life and had lots of comedy parts to make viewers laugh. At the beginning of this movie it portrays the his troubled life along with his right hand man Shorty. Malcolm's father was killed by the KKK when he was at a young age even though police reports consider his death as a suicide. His mother on the other hand, was sent to a mental center. He was also separated from his siblings. Malcolm X was one of the most important human rights leaders and was an extremely gifted speaker. 

Malcolm X is a movie about Malcolm X and his life. At first he was a total pimp, his nickname was Red (he was reportedly a 'ginger' due to his maternal grandmother having been raped by a white man), and he robbed people. He then dates some random white girl and gets in trouble for that. Then when he was high he made a bet that actually came true but then he didn't get the money so he yelled at the bet dude [his mentor during his 'life of crime' West Indian Archie, portrayed by Lee regular Delroy Lindo, later went on to play Woody Carmichael in Crooklyn (1994)]. The bet dude didn't like that so he tried killing him. So he ran away and started stealing again and then he was caught. He went to jail for some time and then became a Muslim [a Black Muslim specifically, NOI (Nation of Islam)], because why not? 

He then got out of jail after a long time (although originally sentenced to eight to ten years; he was released after six years) because he didn't act very good like in jail  [Is this true? Jay, can you provide examples?]. Then he became a Muslim preacher. He did that for a long time until he realized he was basically being used so he quit doing that and did regular preaching [Jay, although he split from the NOI, he remained a Muslim, one might say he actually became a true believer in the Islamic faith, converting to Sunnism

Elaine N. Bowfinger

This movie stood out to me strange at first by all the lies Bowfinger (Steve Martin) would say to everyone. He nonstop would lie to everyone to get noticed or because he couldn't tell the truth and hurt the person's feelings. But I thought to myself how would I feel if I found Bowfinger lied about absolute everything? I would say I have a good friend since he is willingly to out himself out there knowing we can get in trouble for not having all the equipment legally. He tried his hardest to make everyone's dream come true including his own. 

SPOILER ALERT! I would have never expected Kit Ramsey (Eddie Murphy) to have a twin brother Jiff (also Eddie Murphy), that was a complete plot twist. Technically everyone won because Kit's twin brother would star in the movie, while everyone thought it was the real movie star.  

The movie is filled with comedy all over the place. The funniest parts of the film would be when the real Kit Ramsey was thinking he was going crazy about seeing aliens and random people walking up to him saying strange things. Also, Daisy (Heather Graham) was all over the place and throwing herself to the men who had power on how the film was done just so she can get more screen time. I feel like that goes to show in some way gender roles or the power a women possess by using her looks and body to get what she wants.

Eddie Murphy and Steve Martin are really funny together, they are a comedy mixture. The fact that Eddie Murphy's character had a twin made it extra funny. Also, the parts that really had me laughing would be when Kit thought he was going crazy and really seeing aliens.

Rebel Without a Cause #anthonyamici

This movie was a little confusing to me actually. But surprisingly it caught my attention. The beginning when he was in the mental home was weird I didn't understand it or why he was even in there [Anthony, are you referring to when he is brought to Juvenile Hall? The opening credits show Dean's character drunk on the sidewalk playing with a wind-up toy monkey; he then is brought to the station where we are introduced to both Judy and Plato. Why are they there? What issues do they have? "Why did you shoot the puppies, Plato?" 

Then he went to the new school and tried to act different and all big and bad. First he tried to steal one of the popular kid's [Buzz] girl [Judy] and before school even started they didn't like him [evidence]. Then when the knife fight happened I thought he was gonna end up stabbing him and then he was gonna kill him straight up they were going to jump him. But he ended setting himself up for another chance to get hurt by doing the car battle [the 'chickie run'] ,and he ended up killing the other guy [Was Jim truly responsible for Buzzes' death? Does he try to take responsibilty for his actions? The other guy was dumb enough to do that, but I think that's where he showed he was running the show he knew what he was doing he was just doing it to be a show off. Even though at first he was doing it for no reason. Then the girl he was trying to get with that was her boyfriend and she ended up falling in love with the guy. Then the little kid that had like anger issues was like friends with them and he killed somebody and was running away from the cops. He ended up sneaking into a museum and hiding and the cops ended up coming and tracking him becasue somebody snitched. Then he was the one that ended up regretting doing what he did becasue they shot him and killed him. What do you make if this Anthony?

Rebel Without A Cause  is a 1955 American drama film written and directed by Nicholas Ray and Stewart Stern this classic was about a emotionally confused middle class teenager name Jim Stark and he is the new kid in town , he has been in trouble else where : that's why his family moved to the suburbs of Los Angels. Jim hopes to find the love he doesn't get from his family but he finds that with Judy and have relations with her. But when he goes to his new school he meets a group of young toughs one of name Buzz Gurderson who challenged him to a game of chicken and that when that leads to a accident and a death Jim wants to go to the police but his parents refuses to let him do
